This interactive symposium will present cross-case findings of three jointly developed and implemented institutional case studies of teacher education programs data use for intertwined goals of accountability, accreditation, and continuous program improvement. The discussion of findings will focus not only on data systems, their reliability and validity in three different educator preparation programs (EPPs), but also on complex webs of meaning, value conflicts, and socio-cultural practices underlying educators engagement in data practices.The findings will be discussed in terms of their implications for policy at the program, institutional, and state level.
